Blackfoot Daisy, Melampodium leucanthum
Found growing in rocky soil in Wild Basin Wilderness preserve.
Turk’s Cap, Malvaviscus arboreus var. drummondii
Turk’s Cap after a recent rain. These were growing prominently in the Edwards Aquifer Recharge Zone.
Western Spiderwort, Tradescantia occidentalis
This beautiful flower was growing in sandy soil in an area that used to be farmland. Interestingly, there was a significant Tarantula Hawk Pompilidae Pepsis population in the area!
